We specialise in delivering high-quality, support to individuals with complex needs, including those involved with the judiciary system or at risk of offending. Our expertise includes supporting individuals with the following needs and conditions:
At Person of Value, we approach each participant with, respect, empathy, equality, empowerment and inclusivity. This is our way of commitment to helping them reach their fullest potential. We provide care that aligns with each participant’s unique needs and goals. Our support services are grounded in our key approach elements which include:
Person-Centred Support: We ensure that each participant’s care plan is uniquely designed to reflect their individual needs, preferences, and aspirations. Every step is taken in collaboration with the participant, empowering them to direct their own care.
Trauma-Informed Support: Understanding the impact of past trauma on behaviour, we create an environment that promotes safety, healing, and trust, allowing participants to engage fully in their recovery journey.
Strength-Based Approach: We focus on the strengths, abilities, and potential of each participant, helping them build on what they do well and empowering them to develop new skills to face challenges with confidence.
Behaviour Support: We have the capacity to effectively implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), including the use of positive strategies to encourage desired behaviours and enhance overall well-being.
Evidence-Based Practice: We implement strategies and interventions that are supported by the latest research and best practice. This ensures that our care is not only personalised but also grounded in proven, effective methods for improving outcomes.
Gentle Approach to Restrictive Practices: Where necessary and in strict accordance with NDIS guidelines, we are skilled in implementing restrictive practices with careful consideration, ensuring that they are used only when absolutely necessary, and always with the goal of minimising their impact on the participant’s dignity and freedom.
Capacity Building: We help participants develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to lead independent lives and make informed decisions about their care and well-being
Reducing Re-offending: We are committed to supporting participants involved with the justice system by helping them make positive, informed decisions that reduce the risk of reoffending. Through structured support, mentoring, life-skills development, and strong community connections, we assist individuals in building stable, purposeful lives—empowering them to break the cycle of recidivism and successfully reintegrate into society.
Person of Value was established to suit the growing needs of individuals with complex behaviours, including those at risk of or currently involved with the justice system. We are committed to empowering participants who have historically faced systemic barriers and limited access to equitable opportunities for growth, development, stability, and inclusion.
Our founder brings a unique blend of clinical insight and front-line experience to our practice, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Biochemistry, a Certificate III in Individual Support, and a Master’s in Public Health. With close to a decade of direct involvement and experience with participants with complex needs, he has developed a deep understanding of the systemic barriers participants face and a strong resolution to break them, hence Person of Value was founded.
Guided by the principles of behavioural analysis, trauma-informed practice, strength-based approach, and cultural responsiveness, Person of Value delivers unwavering tailored support to its participants. We recognise the dignity, resilience, and potential within each individual, and strive to create pathways that promote stability, build capacity, promote community inclusion and positive decision making.
